parkrun organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in.
These events take place in pleasant parkland surroundings and we encourage people of every ability to take part; from walkers or those taking their first steps in running to Olympians; from juniors to those with more experience; we welcome you all.
Baldivis park run
Cr Whitfield has been supporting the event ambassadors , Gary Wilmot and Cassie Hughes , to get a Baldivis park run in place.
The proposed site is the Tamworth reserve on the corner of Safety Bay road and Nairn drive.
The City of Rockingham have kindly recently upgraded parts of the path network to help combat the occasional flooding and now park run have formally submitted an event application to the City of Rockingham to have this event every saturday morning.
park run have also applied for a community grant as the initial start up costs are $7000 , of which $2000 is for a defibrillator
The hope is to have this course in place for the start of spring.
